Gordon Hill to Economic Council
Varna farmer Gordon Hill has
been appointed, along with three
others, to the Economic Council of
Canada.
The Economic Council's role is to
advise the government on "economic
policy and undertake a lot of
research:' said Hill.
The three year appointment entails
deciding what projects will be handl-
ed and directing the research as well
as considering interim and final
reports.
In addition the council also spon-
sors research by others not employed
full time with the council, which
employs between 140 to 150 people.
Appointments are made by the
Prime Minister and Hill was asked
two years ago by an M.P. if he would
be interested in an appointment.
Hill was contacted through the
Prime Minister's office and later talk -
