Animal Welfare: hot topic at H.C.F.A. meeting
The history of the animal welfare movement was presented by Dr. Frank
Hurnik, U. of G. at the October meeting of the Huron County Federation
of Agriculture. Hurnik says we must be aware of where the welfarists'
groups "are coming from" in order to understand their point of view. He
says there is no reason to be on the defensive; by being aware of their con-
cerns, farmers will be in a better position to treat the matter rationally.

Martin Attenberger.
Others (bottom photo) got together in the coffee break after the meeting
to discuss the implications of the animal welfare movement.
