July 17, 1983 This meeting was held in the form of a Family Pot Luck Picnic com- bining the July and August Members Meeting into one. The picnic com- menced at 2:00 p.m. with a social time enjoyed until 4:30 p.m. when a pot luck supper was served, at the Bayfield Ausable Park in Clinton. The only item of business from the meeting was the following resolution passed to be sent to the O.F.A. Direc- tors meeting on July 20/83. Motion made by Hans Rasmussen, seconded by Fran McQuail "Whereas Farm Credit Corporation has run out of money earlier than ever before and whereas this has caused hardships throughout the farm community as farmers financial plans are placed in uncertainty at a time of year when they are already extremely busy and Whereas it appears that the Ministry of Finance is trying to limit Farm Credit's role in farm lending and whereas many farmers are not aware of the seriousness of this situation that may limit Farm Credit's ability to respond to Canadian farmers financial needs, Therefore Be It Resolved that O.F.A. express to the Minister of Finance the urgent needs of the farm community at this time and Further Be It Resolved that O.F.A.
