The Rural Voice, 1983-06, Page 11My Goat
On Tues., Feb. 20, 1983, Dad had to
take a cow to the vet to have a calf. The
vet asked Dad if he wanted to take a goat
home. Dad said, "Yes."
When Dad arrived home he had a cow,
a calf and a goat. The goat was a bit
scared at first. When he was born his
mother stepped on him and injured his
back. He could use his front legs but his
back legs dragged behind him. His name
is Billy.
We now have taught Billy how to walk.
He can sit on the swing, catch sticks, he
can run faster than me. He is really big.
His horns are getting big too.
My sister and I fed him with a bottle.
He is now able to drink from the cat's
dish. He can get out of the barn and tour
around the farm.
I'm glad he can walk now!

I love My Cat
Kitty, Kitty, Kitty, cat.
You are my very favourite cat.
I love to feel your pitter pat
When you walk across my back,
Just because you are my cat.
But I've had enough, so sciddle-lee-scat
Before you become my least favourite cat.
