The Rural Voice, 1983-04, Page 72HIGHEST YEARLY
AVERAGE INDEX
In an effort to promote greater inter-
est and concern for producing the lean
pork which is demanded by consumers.
the P.C.P.P. Assoc. has for the past
few years given recognition to those
producers who market hogs with the
highest yearly average index. (For those
readers unfamiliar with the system,
high index means less fat.) These
producers are obviously concerned
about the quality of meat they produce
and deserve a pat on the back for their
achievements.
This year's winners were honoured at
the P.C.P.P. annual meeting:
In the under 500 hogs shipped cate-
gory; James Porter (107.4), Bruce Lin -
stead (107), Wayne Debus (106.7), Nyal
Dotzert (106.5) and Murray Bancroft
(106.4).
In the 500-1000 hogs shipped cate-
gory; Rudy Van Dieren (106.9), Mrs.
Rudy Koert (106.6), Knud and Ralph
Peterson (106.6), Gerald Vandewalle
(106.5) and Leo Kroonen (106.3).
In the 1000 plus category; Alvin Dow
(106.8), Robert Stephen (106.7) Arnold
Van Morsel (106.4), Van Loon Farms
(106.3), Adrian Kerstens (106.2).
Congratulations on a job well done.
