In October, I attended a committee meeting in Toronto studying the Ontario Federation's financing and structure. This committee will be reporting at the November convention. The three presidents spent an evening striking the committees for this year. We have dropped the Absentee/Foreign Ownership Committee because there's a regional committee working on this problem. We have struck a new committee "Township and County Federation Liaison Committee" We hope this committee will improve the communication within our county federation. We had an excellent turn out at our pre -convention member/directors meeting. We discussed the 26 resolutions which will be presented at convention. Our fieldman reported that we presently have 2006 members in Huron County. Blaine also suggested a short regular program on CKNX. The directors thought this was a good idea and referred it to our Public Relations Committee. Action was taken to bring the problems arising from coloured fuels to the governments and OFA's attention. Judging by this Directors' meeting, you will have a well informed group of delegates representing you at convention. Coloured Fuel — Red Dye in Diesel Fuel - causing problems in fuel pumps & injectors of machinery - especially John Deere & Allis Chalmers models - leaves a red scum inside the pump - causing a change of filters often & causing too much pressure on the fuel lines. Some machinery dealers are saying they won't back their guaranties' if the farmer has used this coloured fuel. It was moved by Paul Klopp, seconded by Ralph DeWeerd that Huron County write and send to OFA Convention, a resolution on this problem. Carried.
