Regional Meetings planned
North and East Regions will hold their regional meeting in the
OMAF Board Room Markdale on Sept. 21 at 8:30 P.M. A guest
speaker hasn't been asked yet.
South Greys meeting is Sept. 23, at 8:30 P.M. at the Watra
Resort. Harry Zwerver, the new OFA general manager will be
guest speaker. Regional directors for the 3 regions will be chosen
as well as delegates to OFA's annual meeting in November.
Bruce and Grey Federations hired a new secretary, Mary
Harvie who will be working part time in the Hanover office.
Mary will also do custom printing of programs, tickets etc. at a
reasonable price. The telephone number is 364-3050 Mon -Wed -
Fri.
A Finance and Public Relations meeting was held at the
presidents home. Considerable time was spent planning a bus trip
of urban people to various farms in Grey county until we decided
we couldn't afford to host the trip.
The Federation Survey paper was set aside till early spring as
we felt we hadn't enough time before the Annual Meeting.
Tickets will soon be available for the Annual Meeting in the
Flesherton Community Centre October 23. Tickets will be $10.00
each. Dancing will follow the banquet and meeting twith music
supplied by Paul McMullen and group. Each director will have
tickets as will the Hanover office.
A tour of the Essa Demonstration Centre near Barrie is
planned for Sept. 13. Hydro will supply the bus and lunch for
those going.
Hydro is starting the working group program for the
Southwestern Ontario Route Stage Study in October. Bruce
Saunders and the president of Grey Federation will be the
delegates to the meetings. Eleven meetings will be held, running
until October 1983. Several groups appealed the decision to run
the corridor through Grey county but no word has been received
yet from cabinet.
The next meeting of Grey Federation is Sept. 22 at 8 P.M. at
the OMAF board room Markdale. See you at the Annual meeting
on Oct. 23.
