Seminar to boost
seed sales
FARM NEWS
Final plans are complete and initial
registrations have been accepted for a
seed marketing seminar sponsored by the
Canadian Seed Growers' Association.
The Association represents growers of all
seed crops (except potatoes) in Canada
and is responsible for maintaining high
genetic crop standards.
The seminar, using the theme "Sell it
for all it's worth!", has been developed at
the request of CSGA members who
believe there is much greater potential for
certified seed sales.
Use of Certified seed results in higher
yield, more consistent quality, less weed
contamination and also allows overquota
delivery for its purchase. Certified seed
needs to be marketed more aggressively,
according to members of the CSGA.
To get the message across to all those in
the seed industry who have the responsi-
bility for selling Certified seed, the CSGA
has lined up some of the most knowledge-
able men in Canadian agri-marketing.
Spokesmen from several agricultural in-
dustries will guide participants on a
step-by-step path to a successful mar-
keting strategy.
A farmer's work is never done
It's sunrise. Get ouf of your bed you
lazy farmer. It's time to do your chores.
The cows haven't been milked or eaten
for three weeks by now. The pigs are
starving for chop. The fields need to be
plowed and stones need to be picked. Get
out of your bed. Your lists are getting
bigger every day. You haven't done
anything for days. Your wife is dead
tired. if your a farmer, your work is never
done. We need a hired man, so we can sit
and play cards and relax.
