Chris, a graduate of Centralia College of Agricultural Technology has a rewarding but demanding job working in a research laboratory at the University of Western Ontario, doing research work with animals. On the subject of education, Centralia College offers an array of courses in continuing education available to farmers or any interested person - - see outline on page 29. Back to health, just what shape are farmers in? A recent study on 106 dairy farmers in Wellington county shows farmers are more fit than urbanites, but maybe that's not saying too much. And do you know of any farmer that doesn't have back problems? Brenda McIntosh, a member of the Huron Federation executive who is also on the Farm Credit Corporation Advisory Board presented a thought-provoking talk to the Seaforth Institute recently - - about farmers, farming, marketing boards and farm organizations. We managed to get hold of a copy and printed it on page 9. She brings up a lot of valid points and we thought you'd be interested in reading it. And more. Rabbit recipes in the Rural Living section, lots of news and advice and a list of books all about farming that you might like to read when you get snowed in this winter.
