Resolution moved by Tony McQuail...
Whereas farmers are developing programs for on-farm production of fuel
alcohol and whereas to make alcohol production economically viable farmers
need to be able to market surplusses of alcohol over and above that alcohol
needed to run their own farm.
Therefore be it resolved that the OFA request the federal and provincial
governments to allow farmers to sell properly denatured alcohol directly to
other individuals.
seconded by Phil Durand Carried.
Norm Alexander expressed a concern that OFA have not been attending
Conservation meetings involving Ministry of Natural Resources, Ministry of
Agriculture and Food and the Ministry of Environment. It was suggested he
check with Merle Gunby on the dates of these meetings as Merle is the OFA
representative to this area.
