The Rural Voice, 1981-12, Page 7friend said why do you keep dry cows?
Get rid of them, and just keep the kind
that milk and you will make more money.
At his own work he is an expert, but knew
little about dairy farming. So it is the
same way with some people that say that
quota should be free, without saying how
it can be done. If quota is worth having it
will be paid for one way or another.
Milk quota gives dairy farmers
assurance of getting a stable price for
their product.

More host farmers
In the November edition of the Rural
• Voice an article entitled Young Welsh
Famers have a ball in Huron, Bruce and
Perth omitted several activities and host
•
names.
The activities were a pancake supper in
Belmore and a tour of the Teeswater
Creamery; two events that occurred in one
of the host counties- Bruce. As the article
reads these may have been included in
.. among other things..."
However, I am aware of 5 Bruce
County Junior Farmer host names who
were not mentioned. Being a host is an
opportunity for the delegate, the host and
their family to learn of lifestyles,
traditions etc. of another country. In
order to make a visit such as the Welsh
Young Farmers a memorable one, the
hosts open their homes and give of their
time. The hosts whose names should be
mentioned are: Wanda Colvin, Larry
Fischer, Bevin Ireland, Bob Reid, And
Frankie Renwick.
I feel that the article should have listed
all host names individually or just the
numbers of hosts from each county so
that there is not opportunity for hard
feelings or feelings of being left out
among fellow Junior Famers.

Sorry for this oversight. We received a
list of host names from a tour organizer
and assumed the list was complete.
Saskatchewan voice
My husband and I have recently moved
from the Nile, Ontario to Lac Pelletier,
Saskatchewan. We would like to continue
receiving your magazine "The Rural
Voice."
It has always kept us informed on the
business views of our farming area as
well as the ideas for future consideration
"Gasohol" is a good example of your
reporting. Not only do you set out the
activities of others in this area but also
the drawbacks and expenses of such an
idea.
