The Family Farm
Family farms are very nice places,
And It shows on country peoples faces.
The family farm is for one and all,
To plant In spring and harvest in fall.
To plant the seeds row on row,
To watch them sprout, to watch them grow.
Wheat and barley, corn and hay,
Reach for the sky with each passing day.
Brother, Sister, Father and Mother,
Work together and help each other.
Days and nights, nights and days,
They help each other in many ways.
The family farm is full of roots,
Of ancestors who walked there in rubber boots.
Of early man who plowed the lands,
Behind the horse with weatherbeaten hands.
And when the day's work is finally done,
They all sit down under a setting sun.
Then peace and darkness come over the farm,
Over the house, the fields and barn.
