between representatives of the proposed
Weaner Producer Association and the
Ontario Pork Producers' Marketing
Board, a general agreement has been
reached between the two groups.
The broad aims and concerns of the
Weaner Pig Producers have been
identified and arrangements are being
made to cater more specifically to their
requirements within the structure of the
Ontario Pork Producers' Marketing
Board.
A new committee named the "Ontario
Weaner Pig Committee" has been
established, consisting of three Board
Members and six Weaner Producers,
which is charged with making regular and
direct recommendations to the
O. P.P.M.B.
The first duty of this committee is to
arrange several initial area meetings in
January sponsored by the Board in
co-operation with the County Pork
Producers' Associations and the Weaner
Group. At these meetings the actions
taken so far and the future intentions will
be explained and every effort will be
made to gather opinions and suggestions
from the grass-roots Weaner Producers.
