We have not received many responses to our questionnaire
on energy use on the farm. Now that your 1979 income tax
records should be back we hope you will take a few minutes to fill
it out (in April Rural Voice). If you would rather not put your
name on the questionnaire, please fill it in but leave the space for
your name and address blank.
The energy committee is hoping to sponsor some one -day
seminars on farm energy options. We would like to know which
would be of most interest to farmers in our area so that we can
set them up first. If you would like to attend any of the seminars
listed below indicate which ones on this sheet and return it to
Energy Committee, Box 429, Clinton, Ont. NOM ILO

—Wind power for electricity or water pumping.
— Farm production of methane.
—Farm water power and hydrogen fuel.

OFA board passes
3 Huron resolutions
At it s April meeting the OFA Board of Directors passed
three Huron resolutions.
The first asked that the Federal government allow a farmer, on
sale of his property. to add into income, his previously claimed
capital cost allowance on his farm home so that the owner can
claim capital gains exemption on the same home.
In the second resolution OFA was asked to examine any
proposed legislation concerning Plant Breeder's Rights, and
oppose this legislation if it is determined to be detrimental to
Canadian agriculture in the long-term.
Information on treatment and antidotes for many farm
chemicals should be made av::ilable to local doctors by tl
Ministry of Health was the request of the final resolution.
Bruce County asked that a committee be set up to investigate
using non -delegate members to the OFA convention in a
constructive manner.
