FORT MALDEN NATIONAL HISTORIC PARK ,
Amherstburg, national historic park, the military
base, established in 1796, was an important defence
site in the War of 1812.
HURON COUNTY PIONEER MUSEUM • 110 North
St., Goderich. Open daily from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.,
Sundays from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Exhibits include
history of horsepower, antique fire engines, 19th
century dentist's office and seeding and haying
equipment.
ELDON HOUSE, 481 Ridout St., N., London, open
daily 2-5 p.m. London's oldest private residence,
built in 1834 by John Harris.

LAMBTON HERITAGE MUSEUM, Hwy. 21 5 miles
south of Grand Bend, open year-round and features
artifacts recalling Lambton County history.
MEDICAL MUSEUM, University Hospital, London,
open Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday afternoons
2 p.m. to 4 p.m. or by appointment. Contains
furniture, books, diplomas and instruments of some
of London's celebrated doctors, as well as a doctor's
office from the late 19th century period.
MOORE MUSEUM, 94 William St., Mooretown,
depicts rural communities of by -gone days with four
buildings open -log cabin, Victorian cottage, F.E.
Shaw Exhibition Hall and the main building.
THE ONTARIO TOBACCO MUSEUM, 200 Talbot
Rd., Delhi, preserves and interprets Ontario's
tobacco history, with tours Tuesday through Sunday,
10:30 - 4:30, Admission: Adults - 50c, Children - 25c.
JOHN R. PARK HOMESTEAD on Iler Rd.,
southwest of Essex includes house, museum and
several outbuildings which recreate the 1850 lifestyle
of the Colchester area, open daily from 9:30 a.m. to

ST. MARYS DISTRICT MUSEUM. 177 Church Street
S. St. Marys, large limestone house of 1850s with 10
rooms of displays pertaining to the history of the area

ELGIN COUNTY PIONEER MUSEUM, 32 Talbot St.,
St. Thomas, Dr. Duncombe's home built in 1848.

UNCLE TOM'S CABIN MUSEUM. Dresden, historic
site and museum depicting the story of American
slaves who re -settled in Canada. open daily, 10 a.m.

bedroom furnished as they were in the late 1800s.
