as a gray shroud. To the McLeods and
other commercial fishermen the eastern
waters of Huron mean something much
different than they do to those of us who
regard them as a summer playpen.
There is a deeper attachment, though
these people play it down. And one gets
the feeling that that bond nutures
rewards that the rest of us can never
enjoy or appreciate.
Postscript from the editors: Writer
Robinson returned to McLeod's Fishery a
week later and that day the Ferroclad
came in with 500 pounds of perch. The
mood around the shanty was noticeably
changed. Things, it seemed, were
starting to look up.
