John and the Missus
John Munn, a Newfoundland miner full of strength,
stubborness and crazy humour is the central character
in this play by Gordon Pinsent, creator of A Gitt to
Last and The Rowdyman. Through music, comedy
and pathos, Pinsent paints a picture of life in a tiny
Newfoundland village. Everyone wants John to quit
the mine, move to a bigger town and put his feet up.
With a joke or growl he tosses off the worries of the
Missus and the nagging of his own conscience. In this
wonderful tale of a man's fight for self-respect, old
John will break your heart, tickle your funny bone
and win your love.

terror combine in this comedy -thriller that had people

Peter Colley pokes good-natured fun at the "back-to-
the-landers" who seek imagined tranquility in rural
living but find instead that their idyllic farm house is
inhabited by evil things that go bump in the night.
Even those who think they know the secret of this
"haunted house" are challenged to come back to see
if they can sit through the new surprises Peter Colley
has conjured up.

ment troupe so popular they continued to tour
Canada and the United States for 13 years after the
war ended. Jack MacLaren was a Dumbell. He is also
a painter, a writer, a raconteur and collector of friends.

adventures, some of his paintings and some of the
