Busy as a Bee
with recipes featuring honey

Some delicious "honey" recipes for you
to try this month. Louis Stadelmann,
featured on this page,says honey is a good
quick energy food. His wife, Joan gave us
her recipe for Lebkuchen, a spicy cake that
keeps a log ig time. For first course meals,
maybe you'd like to try Honey Garlic
Spareribs or Honey Glazed Chicken. Or
maybe you'd like to try some of the sweets
- Honey Dipped Donuts, Honey Cheese Pie
or some of the other recipes featured in this
section.
Honey Fudge Squares
'h cup butter
2 1 -ounce squares unsweetened chocolate
2 eggs
'/z cup liquid honey
'/2 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup sifted all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
Melt butter and chocolate in top of double
boiler; cool slightly. Beat eggs until fluffy.
Gradually beat in honey. sugar. vanilla and
chocolate mixture. Stir in silted dry ingred-
ients and nuts. Pour into a greased 9 inch
square pan and bake 20 to 25 minutes at
350°F. Cool. Spread with chocolate icing or
melted semisweet chocolate and cut in
squares. Makes 3 dozen squares.
