all". In 1972 Mr. Hodgins saw what was
happening when the fieldmen of the time
went around using expropriation as a
threat, thereby intimidating the most

Bruce Federation of Agriculture and the
Huron Federation to the threat, and with
the help of Glenn Sawyer of Chepstow,
George Underwood of Wingham, Nick
Whyte of Seaforth, Doug Button of
Teeswater, and several others, they
formed the Bruce -Huron Negotiating

membership fee of $100, ninety-two of

Ontario Federation of Agriculture for legal
advice and hired a consulting firm from
Calgary, the "Sibbald Group", to appraise
their properties for them, including
injurious affection, which was at that time

Predictably, the appraised value differed
considerably from the price offered by the
Ontario Hydro fieldmen. The rest is now
history, and for his efforts on behalf of his
fellow farmers, Burton Hodgins was
praised by his fellow farmers.
