Brian Ireland gave his report as regional director for the last year. He commented that he had attended most of the meetings in Toronto and enjoyed them. He felt the Federations trip to the Ottawa Food co -conference was the highlights of the O.F.A.'s yearly activity. He mentioned that the Farm Price index was also one of our major moves in 1978. He also talked on property tax reform and Farm machinery legislation. Herb Henkenhaf in his report mentioned the fact that the Bruce Federation was moving there monthly meetings around the county. He felt this was a good move. The guest speaker was Al Kormos. He has been a director in the Federation for 15 years and has been on the Provincial Executive for the past 5 years. He talked on the Federation's concern about super- market integration. The concern is that as the retail movement of food becomes more and more concentrated both the consumer and producer will suffer. He explained the Federation's executive approach to Property Tax Commission reform and he talked about the corn marketing board. He also stated that most farmers are unaware of the Federal Advance payment programme and how to use it. He praised our president Peter Hannam as being innovative and creative.
