The Rural Voice, 1978-10, Page 38Karl Whytock of Teeswater, a past president of the 4-H council
said they had thought the dance workshops were a good way to
get all members together to meet new people and that dancing
was chosen because "there's always been a lot of dancing in this
area."
The 4-H extension worker Randy Willick who is in charge of
4-H for BruceCounty arranges these workshops and sets the
dates. The 4-H Club requesting the workshop gives him the time
and date he wants it held and he arranges it.
Workshops are usually held three or four times a year and
Mr. Pennington says, "usually we have a really good response."
The age range for the workshops is 12-21 and Mr. Pennington
says any prospective 4-H member is welcome to go to the
workshops.
The emphasis at the Wiarton fair the night the workshops
were held on September 15 was really on 4-H because that's that
night the 4-H King and Queen were crowned. And the people of
the 4-h dance workshop were there to show people that
togetherness is one of the things 4-H is all about.
