The Rural Voice, 1978-08, Page 45continuing increase in grain corn acreage in all areas of Ontario has been the potential for increase production per acre as compared to other feed grain crops. Grain corn in this comparison produced as many pounds of grain on one acre as did oats on 2.6 acres, or barley on 2 3 acres. The differnce in costs per pound of crude protein showed little variation. ‘1111 barley providing the cheapest source at 43.5 cents per pound. oats at 44.7 cent,. and corn at 45.9 cents.
