From left, pickled cherries, nine day pickles and one jar at a time dills.
It's pickle time !
Nothing. nothing in the world can beat
the aroma that seeps out of the kitchen
when it's pickling time.
If you don't do pickling and canning
yourself. you know someone who does and
you hint around in the hope that you'll fall
heir to a jar or two.
Some of the people who work at putting
together kurai Voice are busy putting up
jars when they're not writing stories or
laying out pages and we asked them to
share their very favourite pickle recipes
with Rural Voice Readers.
The result, and all are vouched for by
staff members an 1,•nds as time tested
old family favourites. are the following
recipes for pickled cherries, nine day
pickles, one tar at a time dills, mustacd and
icicle pickles. Added as a bonus are
rhubarb punch and Ohio French dressing
recip es.
Put a little worts into making them now
and then enjoy, enjoy, all winter long.
Every month Rural Voice hopes to
feature the favourite recipes of a reader. In
September Rural Voice Family pages will
have relish recipes. Send your relish
recipes today to Rural Voice.
