MEMBERSHIP DRIVE July 25 - 27 has been set for a membership drive in Howick Township. Bob Kelly. President of Howick Federation is arranging for area members to accompany five Fieldmen who will be calling on Howick farmers. BOGIE'S BEACH Merle Gunby attended the OMB hearing which was held at Carlow on June 12th. The lawyer for the Bogie's Beach Cottage Owners advised the hearing that the Colborne Township secondary plan was in the final stages of approval; also. the conservation authority has a study underway which would have a bearing on the case. For these reasons. the OMB chairman postponed the hearing. In the meantime, the Huron Federation Land Use Committee will be asked to develop a resolution to be sent to Huron County Council asking them to ensure that the intent of the "seasonal residential" designation in the County Plan be adhered to and perhaps given legal status. The draft of this resolution is to be presented at the August meeting of the Federation. DIRECTORS' MEETING Both the Executive and the Township Presidents and Directors found this meeting informative and helpful. The next Directors' meeting has been set for Thursday, August 17th. Place to be announced. Bruce County Federation of Agriculture newsletter will appear next month. No meeting in July.
