the 12 elub zone level that Lucknow is
part of. From there they went on to cap-

that is made up of 98 clubs in their
district. At the National Convention held
in Cornwall .in August, they were award-
ed the honour for all of Canada out of the
387 clubs making up the National
Association of Kinsmen Clubs. What
maybe makes this award special is the
fact that the Lucknow club accomplished
this with such a s*anll population base.
Previous 'winners have included the cities
of Winnipeg, Ottawa, Vernon, Kamloops,
Peterborough and Bramalea. Lucknow is
the smallest centre to have accomplish-
ed this feat in the history of the award..

phone call from one of the a fisting
members. Anyone interested was invited
out to a dub meeting where Recreational
Director Bill Hunter expressed the impor-
tance of having service chubs in com-

up of several new members with others
following shortly after. Retention has not
been a problem as the club has 5 new
members since September this year. Ac-
tive membership currently stands at 39
not including one life member and two
honorary members. The Lucknow and
District Kinette Club could be in the run-
ning for the equivalent award in their
association as they are currently sporting
a plus 1 forr this year.
The Kinsmen Club has had a busy fall
with a record five pools being sold in
their annual Hockey Pool and a variety
of events at the community centre. They
are financially and actively backing
Lucknow's Blue Box Recycling program
coming in 1990. Their next fund raising
project is the annual Kinsmen New
Year's Eve Dance at the Community
Centre. It is a sellout again this year.
They remain committed to the Lucknow
Kinsmen Community Park project and
will be working hand in hand with the
Maitland Valley Conservation Authority
to eventually complete phase three which
is the landscaping of the area to the
south and west of the existing ball dia-
mond. This past summer they completed
phase two which was the installation of
the lights and outfield fence.
