Grade 1
Grade One have been working hard at
Christmas Centres activities, and writing
letters for their friends' mailboxes.
On Thursday afternoon, we watched
"James and the Giant Peach" - an ex-
cellent play. Then, that evening we took
our part in the Christmas Concert by ac-
ting out a play about "Clifford and His
Friends".
We are looking forward to our
Christmas holidays.
Grade 1/2
There has been lots of excitement as -
we prepare for St. Nick's visit. We are
enjoying the activities at the Christmas
centres. Each morning our class joins the
Kindergartens and we look at the advent
calendar. A different Christmas symbol is
discovered each day.
.We wish everyone a Merry Christmas
and a safe holiday!
Grade 2/3
Everyone in our class enjoyed dancing
at the Christmas concert. We hope our
Moms and Dads enjoyed it too.
On Thursday we had a special treat
"James and the Giant Peach" was
presented in the gym. It was a great„
treat at Christrnas time.
Grade 3/4
We have been working very hard on
our play "Rudolph the Red -Nosed
Reindeer" to present at the concert on
December 14th. The dress -rehearsal for
the concert was on Wednesday. We real-
ly enjoyed seeing all the numbers for
Thursday night. On Thursday afternoon
the play "James and the Giant Peach"
was presented to us in the gym. On Fri-
day Jason Ellis returned after his acci-
dent and we were very happy to see him
back.
On Friday December 22 we will be en-
jooing a Christmas dinner and our money
must be here by Wednesday, December
20.
Thanks again to Mr. B. for . making
Rudolph's nose "light up".
Grade 4/5
Just one week of school left until the
Christmas holidays begin! Grade 4/5 is
buzzing with excitement as Christmas ac-
tivities are being done. Mrs. Mali came
in and helped us make grapevine
Opera: Tue,
9;01' un
wreaths! We are almost finished our
pasta trees, too! In envirnomental studies
we are learning all about the Early
Christmas.
Library
The annual Christmas book fair was
most successful. From the sale of over
$1200 of books we realized a $320 profit.
This money will be used to pay for two
authors to visit our school.
All books are to be returned to the
library this week.
Grade 5/6
For E.S. we have taken apart some
soaked beans. We have three fish left in
the aquarium. We are half done , our book
called The Witches. Our new E.S. centre
is plants. We have planted beans, squash,
wheat and radishes on sponges in pans
filled with water.
Grade 6/7
We are writing poems and stories for
our own school paper. We are excited
about Christmas and the holidays. We
went snowshoeing for part of our gym
lesson.
Grade 7/8
In history Grade 73s have been doing
group projects on Canada's Natives.
Practice for our skit "The Christmas Din-
ner Pig" has gone quite well. The grade
8's have finally finished their audio visual
project.
Grade 8
Our investigation of what makes
government responsible is about to come
to a close. We are beginning to ap-
preciate what the "right" that we take
for granted really means to us, especial-
ly in view of recent world events. Our
literature studies have taken us into the
lives of the Gilbreth family. Their funny
autobiography tells how father practised
"motion study" on his twelve children. It
has been a long term and we have work-
ed very hard. All of us are looking for-
ward to a well deserved Christmas
Break.
S.E.
The students enjoy working on their
Christmas Language Activities. They are
looking forward to the class party and
the turkey dinner this week. They hope
everyone has a thankful and joyous
Christmas!
Mr. Pike's Comments
I'd like to thank the community for
LCPS INSIDER
your continued support of our school. It
was very gratifying to have an overflow-
ing gym for last night's concert. I felt the
students did an exceptional job. Classes
resume January 8.
The students and staff of Lucknow Cen-
tral would like to wish everyone a safe,
joyous Christmas season.
HE WHO FORGETS
—His friends will soon have none to forget.
—His mistakes will soon be making more.
—His past will never master his future.
—His promises will soon find them of little
value to him.
His mother can be trusted by no one.
—His great moments has forgotten the
best of his life..
—His country's needs does not deserve his
country's protection.
