7, Ashfield Township. The Lucknow Fire
Department received the call at approx-
imately 10:15 a.m. placed by J.C. Dren-
nan of Ashfield Township.
Brad, the 35 -year-old son of Mr. and
Mrs. McQueen was sleeping .at the time
,and Mr. Drennan alerted him to the fire.
Mr -and Mrs. McQueen, their daughter,
Janet ,and grandchildren, 10 -year-old
Christine.and five-year.old,,Kendra, were
away .at church when the lire erupted.
The family moved here in September
from 'Waterloo.
Firefighters were in the house for a
time, but were forced to evacuate when
flames between the two levels caused the
ceiling to begin to cave in on them. The
fire department was on the scene for
close to three hours.
Donations needed
Neighbours in the area are asking for
the public's assistance in finding tem-
porary accommodation or rental proper-

This is the last issue of The Lucknow
Sentinel for /989. Staff will take a wee
break and no issue will be published
December 2l.
The deadline for submissions of news
and advertising copy for the January 3
issue is 3 p.m. on December 2s. Cor-
respondents and advertisers are asked
to submit their news and copy as ear-
ly as possible.
The staff of the Sentinel extends their
wishes for a Joyous Christmas and hap-
py and safe New Year.
Important
notice
It has been brought to the attention of
the Sentinel that a recent mini -directory
telephone listing, published by area
businesses contains a serious error. The
number listed beside "Police" is in fact
the number for the Lucknow Fire
Department. Several police related calls
have been received at this number
Residents are asked to change the
directory. accordingly. Use of this
number for police calls could result in
a delay in a fire call being received.
Police related mills should be made to
the Kincardine Detachment of the DPP
at 396-3341.
