Christmas
dinner
The Pentecostal Congregation held their
pre-Cbristmas dinner on Friday evening
at the Mayfair Restaurant at Lucknow.
Visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Tom
McDonald were Dr. and Mrs. Mac Mac-
Donald of Kincardine, Jennie MacTavish
and Elsie Miller of Walkerton, Mr. and
Mrs. Bert Thompson of Teeswater and
Bill McLaughlan of Ohio.
Rev. D.L. Howlett District Secretary of
the Bible Society from London visited -on
Tuesday with Edna and May Boyle.
Tammara (Tammy) Hodgins, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Hodgins left on Sun-
day November 26 for one week in Hawaii
before going on to New Zealand and
Australia for • one year on a Junior
Farmer Exchange ,program. She will live
with 21 farm families for one week each.
Several events in Glencoe resulted in
Tammy being honoured with $500 in
farewell gifts.
Clifford Lloyd passed away in
where he made his home with his son,
Clifford and Shirley Lloyd, after the
death of his wife Winnifred. The
memorial service was held on Sunday,
December 3 at Tonawanda, New York.
Arthur Haldenby is a stepbrother and we
extend sympathy to the bereaved.

Pentecostal W.M.
The Pentecostal W.M. met at the
church on Monday evening last Patricia
Maki extended a welcome and Cathy
Chatten opened the meeting with prayer.

The secretary and treasurer gave
reports and business was dealt with.
Plans were Made for a skit for the
• r 31 church service. The next
meeting will be in the New Year. Mrs.
Christensen handed out the cards with
prayer requests.
Ursula Krahn presented the missionary
study on Zambebia South West Africa.
Several "members had information en this
new country. Ursula also 'summarized the
story from the missionaties, Karl and
Ruth Verhitilts, .who have been there
since 1983. 'They were all asked to
remember these dear people who live
among 'bombing and warfare.
Anna Scheurwater shared a letter from
Don and Betty Krahn, .missionaries at
'Moranbique where one of 12 million of
the world exist. She requested prayer for
these !unfortunate people.
Mrs. Christensen asked all to read 1st
Peter Chapter ,5 and tell our personal
thoughts on it. A prayer time was held
whickgave spiritual refreshment.

the past week end there had been
intermittent snow squalls. Fortunately the
wind decreased and by Monday morning a
layer of fluffy snow has covered the
ground. With this in place the loss of beat
is prevented or it mould be even colder
than lit is at present.
Vistits with her uncle
Miss Betty Peterson of Barrie visited in
the, area this past weeketxl. Accompanying
her was her mother Mrs. Fran Peterson
who visited with her sister Mrs. Mel Ben-
nett in Kincardine. Betty is a nurse in the
Royal Victoria flospital In Barrie, Also she
never fails to tome to Ripley to vitt'Iviith
her uncle Ab Wylds even in this wintry
weather.
