David Atweii VERVONE WELCOME EPS INSIDER LCPS students believe reading is the key by Sonia Jones, Jessica Redford and Shelly Johnston Kindergarten This week we made a big book on "Animals in Winter" which Pooh Bear gets to take home each day. We also made our own littel book about Animals in Winter. We have been practicing for the Christmas Concert We are excited to think that December is here already and Christmas will soon be here. December birthdays are Matthew P. and Jordin. We are all looking forward to this new month of December. Grade 1 Grade one finished up their "Clifford" unit today with a "Clifford" party. We made Christmas cookies and our November birthday cake for Jeff, Andy and Mrs. Bell. We made thank -you letters for our volunteer parents for all their help in reading. We read our Clifford books and our dog charts to them and played some games. After Christmas we will be reading with grade 5 partners. Grade 1/2 We made animals cookies to go along with our, "Amazing Animal Unit.' Thank -you Mrs. Cloony and Mrs. Gilchrist for your help. Thank -you Mrs. Lash for the cutters. The cookies were delicious. The Christmas season has arrived and we are anxiously awaiting our Christmas Concert. Super Stars this week are Laura Sande and Ellen Husk. The Birthday boy for November was Justin Gollan. Grade 2/3 Evelyone in Grade 2 - 3 is enjoying the snow. Winter is fun. We are working at our Eskimo centres and having a great time. Grade 4/5 Grade 4/5 class has finished our wit on Fairy Tales and is now starting Christmas Centres. In art we are making Christmas trees -out of pasta and in F.Y.I. we are doing fish. Grade 5/6 This week in grade 5/6 we had a -little quiz on finding rivers and lakes. Every one did well. In Math we are doing times tables. We also put our names in bubble letters and put our interests and hobbies in our name. Grade 6/7 Mr. Burkhart went with the T.R.A.LL. students to O.E.C. Mrs. Gilchrist acted as teacher in his absence. To thank Mrs. Gilchrist. Crystal Brindley made a /centrepiece and presented to her last Thursday. Everybody was so pleased they clapped in honour of her. Thanks for filling in for Mr. Burkhart. Grade 118 The grade 7's have started to practise for a play for the Christmas Concert, As well they had a math test and received their reports. The -Grade 8 had a history test on responsible Government and are Preparing trees and writing the script to make a video about Batman. Grade 8 The grade 8's are about to complete a few units of Study. Ti* first is a popula- tion unit in geography where we have been introduced to many problems faced by the pe* 'of the world. The other unit concerns the :1837 Rebellions. Here the class is beginning to explore Canada's democratic roots, :Special EdlicatIOn The special education class was happy with the results of the report cards. The students are enjoying decorating, the tables with the "Christmas Scene. They are looking forward to the Christmas dinner hi two weeks. Library The Christmas bookfair was most suc- ceoful.
