amends Procedural Bylaw
West 'Wawanosh township council held
its regular meettag on November 7 at
which time council agreed to agaha
donate $10.00 to the Lung Association in
1969.
Clerk, Joan Armstrong was instructed
to write to the Ministry of Municipal. Af-
fairs to inform that Ministry that the
township has no comment to make regar-
ding Ashfield"Township's 5 -Year Review
of its Secondary Plan.
An application for loan for tile drainage
by Gordon Foran for part of lot 24, con-
cession 7, was approved subject to the
availability of funds.
Council concurred with the resolution of
the City of Orillia to voice to the Provin-
cial Government strong opposition to Bili
8,, The French Language Services Act,
which makes bilingusdism a mandatory
qualibeation for many provincial govern-
ment .positions.
The township agreed to accept
-recyclable material from Brookside
Public School for a three month proba-
tionary period, provided that only
recyclables are deposited with no con-
taminant .material to be included. The
school is to be responsible for setting up
a program to have the recyclables
transported to the township landfill site.
The clerk was directed to write a letter
to R.A. Whiteley, Principal of Brookside
Public School, to inform him that in view
of the above motion, council will not sup-
port the school's "Blue Box Program"
regarding paying half the cost of 21) blue
boxes for the classrooms
In response to the report of John R.
Earl, Environmental Officer on his in-
spection of the Landfill Site in August,
council is sending a letter advising that
the trapped water situation in the trench
has improved and that burned material is
not shoved over the slope until it is cool.

(Lueknow) Inc., to supply dyed diesel
fuel at 27.30 cents/litre; clear diesel at
38.90 cents/litre and furnace oil at 21.10
cents/litre was accepted.
Road accounts in the amount of
$25,33835 were approved and authorized
for payment.
Approval was .given to pay $7.00 per
day standby lime for the snowblower
owner/operator in Auburn, to cover
liability insurance should the ensuing
winter season be another of comparative-
ly light snowfall.
Application for building permits were
approved for Noah D. Stutzman, Nellie
Pentland, Ron Pentland and Mel Lyons.
Discussion was held on a request for
comments by the Ministry of Natural
Resources, Wmgham on the work propos-
ed by Edward Brophy on the stream at
part of lot 24, concession 7. 'The ministry
will be advised that since the work is to
be done on a stream which involves
Ministry concerns, that Mr. Brophy and
the Ministry should proceed with
whatever rammer is mutually acceptable
to complete the work; and further that
destroying old beaver dams on the
stream will probably ;provide the
necessary solution to problems at the
site.
Collection dates for 1990 taxation were
set at 50 per cent on June 15 and the
final 50 per cent on November 15.
The Procedural By -Law was amended
to read "Meetings of the Council AA be
held at the Council Chambers adopted
and used by Council from time to time
for such purpose. The Inaugural Meeting
of Council shall take place at 7:30 p.m.
on the first Tuesday of December follow-
ing the election. The regular meetings of
Council shall be held on the first Tuesday
of each month at 7:30 p.m.".

held Nov. 16 at the home of Alice
Doelman.
The president, Muriel McKenzie thank-
ed all who had come out on such a stor-
my day. ,A special welcome was extend-
ed to Donna Johnston. The Opening Ode
was sung and the Mary Stewart Collect
repeated.The scripture, Psalm .23, was
read by Margaret Mowbray.
The minutes of the October meeting
were read by Una Matthews .8z the
treasurer's report by Marian MacKinnon.
In the correspondence there was an an-
nouncement of the 441 Achievement
r Night in Ripley District School,
November- 29, 730 p.m. A letter of ap-
-preciation Was received from -Participa-
tion Lodge and another from the Day
Centre for the Homgbound in Wingham
asking for continued support. A !motion
was passed that Kairshea i. will again
send a donation to this worthy cause. it
was decided to order ten copies of the
Fedented News.

The roli ced1„ What is your hobby for
retirement?, was well answered by all
present.
Alice Ritchie, convenor for Family and
Consumer Affairs took this chair for the
program. She read an amusing poern and
then introduced her sister-in-law, Donna
Johnston, of Clinton. Donna has been tak-
ing lessons in China /tinting for years.
She gave a brief history of this art. Mar-
co Polo brought back painted china from
China in 1295. But it wasn't until the
1700's that the first china factory was
huilt in Germany It was 1860 when the
first artists came to America. Donna
demonstrated painting different flowers
on china and told how many firings were
needed to complete a platter she was
painting. She had several samples of her
work on display '..and they were beautiful.
Marian MacKinnon thanked Donna and
presented her with an envelope.
Courtesy -remarks were given, God
Save the Queen sung and a present
;quickly donned their snow boots and
winter clothing and started for home in
the first, blinding snow storm of this
season.
