Helen Beckett chaired .the program on
the theme Freedom. Grace Gibson gave
a reading, Remembrance. With Evelyn
Cook at the piano -several hymns were
sung throughout the meeting.
Mrs. Cook read an article, Why War .a
Poppy?, followed by Mrs. Beckett
reading the scripture from, Timotby 2.
A musical number by Elsie Houston
was enjoyed.
Mrs. Hackett gave 'Ronald Reagan's
speech, Abiding Peace, along with
thoughts on freedom with scripture
references. Mrs. Gibson gave a reading,
The Ten Commandments.
Mrs. Hackett led in the closing prayer,

On Tuesday, November 7, members of
-Unit 2 of the Lucknow United Church
Women met in the church .parlour with
nine in attendance.
Marion McFarlane opened -the meeting
with• a reading entitled -The Poppy.
The minutes were. read -and approved,
along with -the treasurer's report.
The rolleall was„answered-witha Bible
verse containing the word!peace.
Calendars were 'handed out amtsevend
future meetings -were 'announced.
'November .20 on.channel 25 at 7:30 pm.,
the :United ,Church program will be on
the 'Mission Study- for ,next year.
Pennies were gathered to Start for
another year and the prayer repeated:

dedicated.

Mrs, Greer read a poem, Remem-
brance Day, which had been written by
her granddaughter.
Mrs. .Ritchie introduced the guest
speaker,„ Margaret Wormworth of
Whegham, who was a war bride She was
born in Liverpool and when a young girl
moved to London, England and became
•a -librarian. In 1939 she met and later
married Ross Wormworth, who was ser-
ving in the Qmadian Artillery.
Mrs. Wormworth related some history
leading up to the declaration of war and
described conditions 'under whith Lon-
doners lived and worked during those
dark days -Of war.
In 1945 Mrs. Wormworth came out to
Canada, near 'Kingston, and her husband
joined ter the followim year. The couple
were transferred .to Wingham in 1953
where he was a conservation officer.
'Mrs. MacMillan thanked the speaker
for her interesting and timely talk and
presented her with a lovely plant.
Mary Boyle, unit leader, presided for
the business, opening with a :poem, One
Day at a Time.
Reports were given by the treasurer,
Mildred Cameron; citizenship, -Kathleen
Collyer and Jane Treleaven for 'Bootle
funetions. -Laura Lee Cayley was -pianist
for the 'hymns.
The -Can' will hold their 'Candlelight
Servie .an Deceniber 3 in South Kinlass
Presbyterhm Church. The annual general
meeting .is to be held Decent ter .5.
The Fellowship of the teat Coin Was
conducted ty Marg Finlay, a Voice from
Paraguay, expressing our influence as
Ohristians and was•followed -with prayer
as the coins were collected.
The meeting was closed with the miz-
