teachers who helped make our service

Remembrance Day.
Along with the special averts there ;is
a lot going on in our .classrooms, A
special thank you again to our adult
volunteers who are doing so many to
rnake our school vecial.
Interview With
Mr.'Wilkins
Mr. Wilkins was born and grew up in
Paisley. He is the custodian at BrookSide.
He Wanted to become a custodian
because it seemed like a good job. His
hobbies are ung wooden toys and cor-
ding lawn .chairs. Mr. ' Wilkins enjoys
:pial .cards, a eboard and pool. The
favouritething .about his job .he says is
working with the ..people. (Brookside en-
joys working with Mr. Wilkins, too!)

Pupils created ,.posters to • suitably
recognize 'Remembrance Day. The feel-
ings of people .during wartime were
discussed and pictures were made to
reflect :those moods. •
This week our tally ofpupils attending
reached 1,000. =Popcorn, •:rice and
macaroni were .packaged 'in s of `1;000.

Extra, Extra! stn 10' has been tieing
some work on writing a newspaper. We
'hoPe to produce a newspaper for our
class. We are doing this to raise money
for our trip'to 'Ottawa and Quebec. Room

On Monday, Andrew Donaldson came
to our school to sing his French songs
that he wrote ;in the French books.
We hada Math test and a science test
and " next Monday we are having a
Geography test. On .Friday we are re-
taking the science ,test.
In art we are ,snaking masks.

This week we had a Geography test,

Essays. In Math we are doing square
roots. In music we are doing a project on
the Blues and other 'old music.
Library, Mrs Clarke
The Library has been ` Research City"
this month. Mrs. Graham's Grade 8's
have begun Loyalist research and Mrs.
Webster's Grade 6's are learning about
countries in Europe. The ICONS are busy
with groups from Mr. Culp's class lear-
ning about "Animals of Ontario':, and
from Mr. Meyer's Mass, learning how to
create a newspaper using the Micro
News program. 'We are happy to have
Jim Prior from Brussels PS. come on
Friday to introduce our Grade 8's to an
ICON program about the Loyalists. Con-
gratulations to Larissa Sproul who won a
free hook answering the October Quizzle!
Elsie Bloomfield of Paisley, Mr. and
Mrs. Tom McDonald and Edbert Bushell
from' here were ,guests of Dr. and Mrs.
Mac MacDonald and Jeffrey at

May Boyle. They were here attending the
funeral of his sister Alice Stewart at

Marietta :Hodgins who has been visiting
with relatives and friends in the area
