Very offensive petroleum fumes in the
offices of George Brophy and the
residence of Mr.. .and Mrs. William
Johnston on Campbell Street in Lucknow,
resulted in the Ministry of Environment
being called in on • 'October 27 to in-
vestigate where the :problem was
originating. Marg and ,Paul Finlay •of
Finlay Decorating had also -noticed the
odour, although it was not as strong at
their 1 remises.
On october 31, Betty McDonagh had

ed from her ..property located at -579

Due to Remembrance Day failing on
Saturday, the local post office will be
closed Saturday, November 11. It is nor-
mally open until noon. On Monday,
November 13? the 'poSt office will be'

opened from 9 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.
The local library will be closed on
Saturday between the hours of 11 a.m.
and 12 noon for the Cenotaph Service.
On Monday, November 13, the library
willbclosed all day as the official
holiday.
Lest we forget
Don't forget the Remembrance Day
church and cenotaph services this
Saturday. The church service is at 10
a.m. at St. Peter's Anglican Chubb
with the cenotaph service scheduled for
11 a.m.
'ruck stolen
Provincial Constable Paul Davis of
the Khicardine OPP is investigating the
theft of a 1979 Chev pickup truck,
licence LD1 255 from Campbell Street,
Lucknow. The truck had been parked
keys in the ignition while the
driver, Wes Nielson, from the Mildmay
area went shopping. On his return at
190 p.m., he discovered the theft.
• Halloween
occurrences
Halloween 1989 was relatively quiet in
the detachment area of jurisdiction with
members investigating one ,personal in-
jury accident, a break and enter to an
apartment in Lucknow, the residence of
Roland McCulloch in which some eggs
and beer were stolen and several com-
plaints of egg throwing.
On Noventber 1, at 5:30 pm., Peter
Van Dam of R. 2, Holyrood reported

On October 31, 1989 at 7:50 p.m.,
Dave liallam, age 19 years of 865
Willoughby Street, Lucknow received
facial injuries when struck by a car
driven by a 21 year old Greenock
Township man. Hallam was crossing
Campbell Street when the accident oc-
curred. He was treated at the Wingham
Hospital and released. The driver has
been 'charged with Dangerous Operation
Of a Motor Vehicle and will appear in
Criminal Court, Kincardine on
November 28.
