The Dungannon United Church Women

Thanksgiving was the theme at the
meeting with Helen Dawson leading aanl
all present participating. Familiar scrip-
ture reading was Psalm 136, verses 1.9.
Ann Isfillar's Senior Creed reading was
humorous and enjoyed.
During the past month, shrubs have
been planted improving the church's
appearance.
The Willing Workers, husbands and
families are invited to € supper
November 21 with Willing Workers :ask-
ed to bring dessert.
Gloria Pearson presided for the
business with the U.C.W. benediction

The ,card party held on October 18 ,had
12 tables in play. High man, John An-

Union Pastoral Charge
Service was held at Dungannon with
Rev. Albert Cook. C.G.I.T. assisted with
the call to worship, receiving the offering
:and presenting the scripture readings.
Leaders of the C.G.I.T. group are Penny
Bodges and Kathy Curran.

Presbytery, has called a congregational
meeting of Dungannon Union Pastoral
Charge at Dungannon Church on Sunday,
October 29 at 8:00 pin. This meeting is
for all church members

Lucknow Wornen's Institut
The Lucknow Women's Institute met
October 10 with Margaret MeNay and
Tillie Wilson as conveners.
The meeting opened with the Ode and
the Mary Stewart collect. Dorothy Brown
read . a poem, Autumn, followed by the
minutes of the September meeting.
Rollcall was answered by an interesting
item on .Russia.
Tillie Wilson, Grace Gibson .and Susan
McNaughton will attend the .annual
meeting in Paisley.
Two items were held over ' for 'discus-
sion at the November meeting, the
Christmas Benevolent Fund and sale of
some institute dishes.
Susan McNaughton reported on her
meeting with council regarding the ap-
plication for a bar by the local bowling
alley.
Dorothy Brown and Tillie Wilson will
contact Mr. Pike of the Lucknow Public
School regarding the plaques donated to
the school.
Lois Goodhue thanked everyone for
their donations to the Lucknow Fall Fair.
Tillie, Wilson was in charge of the pro-
gram, which opened with 0 Canada :afid
a poem. A musical number by Grace
Gibson, Mary MacGillivray, Noma Camp-
bell Marion McFarlane was enjoyed
by everyone.
Margaret McNay gave the topic about
Russia, followed by a reading by Cilia
Aitchison.
At the close of the meeting a spelling
bee was conducted, with Dorothy Brown
:proving to be the best speller.

ly, Retail Market Development Specialist with the Ontario Pork Producers Marketing
Board at the Rnechtel staff party last Saturday evening. The Ontario Pork Producers,
sponsored a -contest, open to 1580 stores across Ontario, for entries promoting
shoulder, butt and loin steaks. Individual labels had to be submitted for each and
those that qualified had their names put into a draw. The producers' aim is to have
their product o pork - recognized as steaks, rather • r chops., The lucky winner of
the random draw was John Hopi and the prize was ' s t for a staff party. This was
a first for the Bruce Canty Pork producers as they .barbecued the meal for the staff.

Jamie and Barb McEwan and son Ian,
Port Credit, visited with Grandma Gladys
Arnold on the weekend.
Sunday dinner guests with Katherine Col-
lins, Glen and Doreen Young, Harvey and
Betty Needham, Frank and Ruby Collwell,
and Mary Thompson. Happy Birthday
Doreen.
