Scott and Mary Cox were united in mar- riage at the Church of Ascension in Kinlough with about sixty guest present. The couple said it doesn't seem like fif- ty years since their marriage. The of- ficiating clergymen were Rev. G. . Con of New York, uncle loft the bride, assisted by Archdeacon F. C. MacRitchie, now retired in Sombre,. The organist was Miss Edna Boyle of Kinlough, who .has ,played in the Kinlough church for 70 years and is still .active at that church organ. Attendants at the wed- ding were Jack's sister and brother-in-law, Dr. J. S and Mrs. MacDonald of Ripley, now deceased. Mr. and Mrs. Scott celebrated their an- niversary Oct. 14 at ,the Ripley legion hall with an open house from 2 to 5 porn. They are _,Ripley residents and are very happy they chose Ripley for their retirement home in 1060. The .Scott's farmed for 41 years on the fourth concession ' of Huron Township and later on the tenth concession of Kinloss - Mary's former home. They are members of St. Petal's Anglican Church where 'Mr. Scott .is n warden and Mrs. Scott is treasurer of the S. C. W. Mr. Scott is president of the Happy hearts seniors club and both participate in community projects. 1n honor of their 59th anniversary, the couple received several government scrolls, including one from the former Governor General Jeanne Sauve. Mr. and Mrs. Scott are proud of their two sons and wives: Bill and Bertha Scott and Bob and Wendy Scott, all of Huron township. Their five grandchildren are Heather Graham and Jeffrey, Jennifer, Barbara and Blair Scott. Asked about an incident in their lives, Mrs. Scott said she is the thirds generation in succession to have celebrated) is "golden wedding" after her grandparents in 1922 and her parents in 195E. On Saturday evening, a family dinner was held at the Mayfair restaurant in Lucknow.
