Visiting with John'and Ruth Pritchard
and Heidi last week was RUM cousin,
Dr. Nelson Colwell of Midland,
Michigan. This week the Pritchard's
had their son and daughter-in-law, Dan
and Luisa and Luisa' parents, Mr. and
Mrs. 'Marr Motto, all of Toronto, home
for :a visit.
Visiting recently with Ross and Grace
Gammie and other members of the
family were Brock and Anna Margaret
Campbell, Tristen and Stephanie of
Calgary.Brock has spentseveral years
with the Gammies and attended school
in this area.
Olga O'Sullivan of •London and a
friend visited with her sister Marla
Kremer, here from Germany, .and Bob
and Larissa Kugler and boys on Labour
day.
Myrtle Johnstone of Goderich spent
Labour day weekend with Gordon and
Bernice :Johnstone.
Lynne Houston of Calgary visited
recently with Elsie Houston on her way
to Dalhousie University in Halifax
where she is entering her third year.

Lucknow Women's Institute enjoyed a

Judging Competition .field on Agriculture
Day, August
29.
The -competition gives participants an
opportunity to display their skills In
evaluation, decision mak ng and public
hidividual award winner from Bruce
County are Andy [McCulloch and Bruce
RibeY •:from Paisley. They bo hlplaced se-
cond in their classes - intermediate and
µsenior,lively.
Over of the :County competitors
placed in the top 25 of their classes. Con-
gratulations to all the -judges in Bruce
;County.

Competition 'Results
Bruce County had .three representatives
participating in the Silver a :1 Com-
petition - Jeff Faust, Solitharn iton; Kevin
Kuntz, :lldmay; and ;Carl manger,
Bruce County OMAF
Teeswater.
In the Beef Showmanship `Division, Jeff
Faust placed third in the novice class.
Jeff's Simrnental calf placed fourth in the
conformation class.
Kevin Kuntz paced second in the
novice class of the Dairy Showmariehip
.Division. Both Carl and Kevin placed well
in the conformation class.
Practical hands on Sheep ':handling and
treatment seminars will be held across
the province this .fall. The seminars are
sponsored by the 'Ontario Sheep
Marketing Agency, the 'Canadian Co -
Operative of Wool Growers, and the On-
tario Ministry of Agriculture Sr Food. A11
sheep producers are welcome to attend.

In honour of Ontario Housing Corporation's 25th anniversary this year certain programs
were instituted. The Brace County Housing Authority promoted achievement awards
for tenants, staff and board members, a Koster contest and a project called Brighten
Up Your Neighbourhood. At a meeting of the Sepoy Apartment residents, Sara Rit-
chie, (right) was presented with the achievement award by Susan MacKenzie, Hous-
ing Manager of the Bruce County :Rousing Authority. Mrs. Ritchie's contribution to her
community, the residents in the building and the building itself gained her this recogni-

Women's Missionary Society of the
Lucknow Presbyterian `'Church met at
the a home of • Celia Aitchison. She
welcomed everyone to the meeting and
read a poem, Look for the good not
faults in people 0 Worship The king
was sung -followed by scripture and
meditation on Pr aching- the (Gospels
presented by Mary Stewart.
A poem :on Autumn was read followed
by the roll ill, A misitionary and his
field, Which was an ►eyed tyyy 15
members.. All e" in
unison.
Minutes of June meeting were read
and business dealt with.
Audrey MacDonald presented a
chapter from the Mission Study book on
South Africa conditions. The Lord's
prayer was repeated in unison and
Eleda Laidlaw gave us the highlights of
the Glad '.dings.
A .tape •of, the duet by Charliey
Chamberlain and Marg Osborne was en-
joyed as they sang It is no Secret What
God Can Do. Hymn singing and the
Mizpah Benediction brought the meeting
to ,a close. Mildred Loree served .a tasty
lunch.
