Purple Grove Community .Centre was
again the meeting place for the mmual
Geddes Fanilly Reunion on Aug. 27.
Representatives were present 'from the
John Geddes' branch, The James Geddes'
branch -and the 'Fred Geddes' cousins.
Following a noon mea1,'he large number
of children enjoyed -games 'while their
elders got caught np with family news.
B12 Geddes of 13ervie 'area acted as
chairman for -a short business meeting
and Betty Mn Lamont had the Minute
Book. A discussion was held on the
smaller .attendance and lack of interest
among the family members but those
present felt it was worth meeting again
in the same place on the fourth Sunday
of August as usual in 1990. Chairman and
secretary were re-elected.
Gladys Arnold of Ripley had prepared
a Family History a few years previously.
It traced the family from Enniskillen,
Ireland to Canada and now family
members are scattered over the conti-
nent. She had been updating the John
Geddes' branch and had copies for those
present. Family members live in London,
St. Thomas, Acton, St. Catharines as well
as locally. She will continue updating
these families
It was pleasant to have Donald and
Anne McCosh as guests and they added
to the fun and fellowship.
