The column will be written from a woman's point of view, afterall it is MY column, however I will try to insert a man's point of view here and there, just to keep all the males at bay. 'I do not need a line up of men out- side my door .on Wednesday morning spouting I was unfair. And I do realize that the female species can be difficult to live with at times, but not nearly as hard as living with the male species! Having been married for a little over 21 years, to the same kind-hearted, understanding, gorgeous, sexy man, (Browiie points here for sure!) I will use 21 as my multiplier. I figure over my time as a wife and companion I have picked up 5,460 pair of socks..I was kind and gracefully conced- ed that Mr. Fixit probably picked up two pair .a week. Multiply 5,460 by two and that means that I have turned the right way, washed and folded 10,920 socks dur- ing my marriage. Allowing 12 inches per sock, that means the number of socks my lily white hands have cared for would ex- tend xtend 2.07 miles. That's a lot of sock and I allowed only one pair per day, when often there were two 'pairs! Now if I was fortunate enough to have my .pantyhose last longer than one day (remember my big toe), and had wash- ed them out each night and hung them on the shower rod, Mr. Fixit would have had -to duck 5,460 pair of pantyhose. But then„I'm not that "fortunate so Mr. Fixit got off easy on that one. I have replaced the toothpaste cap, for Mr. Fust, at least 7,644 times during our maI have rriage. the sheets on our bed over 1100 times -and have woke up beside the same man over 7,600 mornings! I have•cleaned beard out of the sink at least Z500 days (he uses an electric occasionally. ifismo—m—s—sismoarai ANBLINGS by Pat Livingston Ok guys now for your side. Figure out how many nights you Burled up to cold feet, rollers in the hair (pre -Burling iron days), how many flat tires you changed for your spouse, how many times you found the gas tank empty, how many times the bank book was out of balance. Well ladies, that wasn't too bad was it? I got all of our idiosyncrasies in one sentence and I know all of them will not apply to each of us! Now the male in the office is giving me his opinions - women who leave the tops loose on jars (alsoapplies to men), flan- nelette nighties and headaches. With all the little quirks we human be- ings have, it is quite a fete for marriages to last as long as they do. I remember hearing that the first year of marriage was the hardest to get through. What was meant by that I'm not sure. The first year should still be the honeymoon time. It is obvious that a good number of couples have given a lot of love and understanding to make their marriages last up to 60 years. So to all those celebrating a special anniversary this year, I tip my hat to you! • We promise to love .and honour each other for, did you say 60 years? NY ,Theme at 1t again!
