MARY IRMA MARGRETTA HODGINS
Mary Irma Margretta Hodgins of
Ripley passed away August 13, 1989 after
a heart attack. Born on May 24, 1923 in
Brant County, she was in her 69th year.
Surviving are her family Lynda Benson
of Komoka, Joe Hodgins of Ripley, Kerry
Houston of Aylmer, Mavis Stokes of
Ripley, also a brother and sisters - Bruce
Dixon of St. George, Isabel Gelena But-
cher of Waterford, and Jean Green of
Paris, Ontario.
She was predeceased by her husband
Nelson Hodgins of 'Ripley.
The funeral service was held on August
16, 1989. Cremation with interment of
ashes in Ripley Cemetery with clergyman
Rev. Atwell.
Honorary pallbearers - Harry Irish,
Donald McLay, John D. McKay, Jerry
Clark.

Paula Grace Wood, daughter of Allen
and Simone Wood of 64 Terrace Ave.,
Flin Flon, Manitoba, was united in mar-
riage to Andrew Meyer, son of John and
Alkina Meyer of Holyrood, in an outdoor
wedding ceremony in Inverhuron at the
home of Craig and Marion Glen on
August 5, 1989.
The ceremony was officiated by Rev.
Glen MacPherson. The bride was attend-
ed by her two sisters, Tanis Marie
Stallard and Shelley Ann Wood, and by
the groom's sister, Susan Meyer.
The groom was joined at the altar by
his best friend, Scott Arthur Root, with
ushers Richard Krecker, cousin of the
groom, and Richard Wade Stallard,
brother-in-law Of the bride. The
ringbearer for the ceremony was Curtis
Glen, the groom's cousin.
The reception was held at the Ripley
Huron Community Centre followed by a
wedding trip to British Columbia. The
couple will live in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

COOK - Jessica Jean and Graham are
pleased to announce the birth of their
new brother, Kevin David Alexander,
born Friday, August 18, 1989 at the
Wingham and District Hospital. Proud
parents are Kevin and Cathy Cook of
Amberly. Young Kevin is the 23rd grand-
child for Bob and Jean Simpson of Kin -
tail and the 12th for Graham and Mary
Cook of Ripley.

CAMPBELL AITCHISON
Islay Melissa Campbell Aitchison of
Kingston, Ontario died at the Kingston
General Hospital on Monday, July 31,
1989. She was in her 68 year.
Born January 10, 1921, in Arthur
Township to John Colin Campbell and
Lillian Mae Tremain, .Isaly Melissa
Campbell was a nursing graduate from
the University of Guelph. •She did private
nursing duty with the late Dr. W.V.
Jonston and was on staff at Galt and
Hamilton hospitals. In later years she
worked at the Tri service Hospital in
URTHS.
Kingston.
She married Aylmer George Aitchison
in Preston on January 6, 1946 and was
actively involved in raising Samoyed
dogs. She operated the Glocon Kennels
and also had a natural talent for
painting.
Islay Melissa Campbell is survived by
two daughters, Joan and Martial
Gauthier of Stayner and Judy and Bill
Neff of Kingston; by a sister F. Audrey
MacDonald and husband Jack of
Lucknow; nieces and nephews; and by
three grandchildren, Richard, Martin and
Holly Gauthier.
Predeceased by her parents and her
husband Aylmer.
The Gordon F. Thomkins Funeral
Home was in charge of the arrangements
with Padre P.D. Coffin officiating the
August 3 ceremony. Cremation followed
at the Glenhaven Mamoiral Gardens.

playmate for Harmony. Kara was born in
Wingham Hospital on August 11, 1989
weighing 9 lbs. 8 oz. Proud grandparents
are Mr. and Mrs. M. Murray of Guelph.
KEHOE - Audrey and Tom of St.
Catharines are pleased to announce the
safe arrival of their daughter, Catharine
Grace Ann, 6 lbs. 19 oz., on August 11,
1989 at St. Catharines General Hospital.
Proud grandparents are Jim and Grace

Kehoe of Ottawa and first time great
grandparents for Lloyd and Ann Mac-

airy princess to be crowned
MISSISSAUGA Ontario's 34th Dairy
Princess will be crowned in Toronto on
"Agriculture Day", August 29, at 5':30
p.m. at the Canadian National Exhibi-
tion Coliseum, Main Ring. Special
guests will include Gordon Miller,
parliamentary assistant to the Minister
of Agriculture and Food, who will crown
the winner, and John Core, Vice -
Chairman of The Ontario Milk
Marketing Board.
The crowning . follows five days of
preliminary and semi-final competitions
at the CNE for the 43 contestants, who
have each served as Dairy Princess in
their county/district over the past year.
The preliminaries will be held daily
August 24-26, at 6 p.m„ in the Fraser
Pavilion, Coliseum East Annex, with
semi-finals held August 28, at 5:30 p.m.,
in the Main Ring of the Coliseum. The
public is invited to attend all events.
Each night of the preliminaries, there
will be free draws for baskets of dairy
products.
The contestants, ranging in age from
17 to 26, are judged on their public
speaking ability, knowledge of the dairy
industry, personality and poise.
The Ontario Dairy Princess serves as
a full-time employee of The Ontario
Milk Marketing Board during her one-
year reign, undertaking public relations
duties on behalf of Ontario'sdairy
farmers.
The Dairy Princess for Huron County
is Lisa Boonstoppel.
