HomeMy WebLinkAboutThe Lucknow Sentinel, 1989-08-23, Page 19Back for the CNE Helen Maclntyre and a friend from Owen Sound travelled Europe for 10 weeks. While there they visited 12 coun- tries. On July 26th, while it was so hot here, Helen was downhill skiing in Austria. Then, arriving home just in time to attend the CNE, representing Lucknow, she and 112 other Queens stayed at the Margaret Addison Residence, which is part of the University of Toronto. The girls were divided into four groups and went on different tours of Toronto. ,Helen was there .with these girls from Sunday until Wednesday and said it was interesting and a lot of fun. Olive Needham and Nancy Maclntyre are holidaying at Brockville and are visiting Olive's daughter, Helen and Vic Fenton and family. Five Boy Scouts from the first Lucknow Club enjoyed a week of fun and tried out many new sports while up at Haliburton. They stayed on Doe Island with fourteen Scouts and three leaders. Those boys were Michael Har- ris, Joe and Ben Brophy, Wayne Evans and Shawn Belmore. Colin MacLennan was married to Marlene .Huston at the Bethel United Church. Colin is the son of Mr. and Mrs. George MacLennan and Marlene is the daughter of Marion Huston and the late Len Huston. There will be a _number of the people in the community glad to hear that Ross MacKenzie of Goderich and formerly of the area is expected to be released from hospital any day to his home after spending a few weeks in London and Goderich since the car accident. Ross is wearing a head brace to try and correct back injuries. It is understood he is to wear this brace for three months. Everyone wishes you a very speedy recovery Ross. Get well real soon. Dianne and Daryl McClutcheon of Lion's Head, children of Edwin and Janice McClutcheon, are now spending part of their holidays with their grand- parents, Gordon and Nora Robb. Kae Webster and her son Cecil Webster of Waterloo visited on Saturday with Norma Young in Goderich. Weekend visitors of Finlay and Margie MacDonald and many of them -attending the MacDonald picnic were Kathy, Jim and Ryan Robson of 'Gros Point, Michigan, Fern and. Jim Bloom- field and Allison McKinnon of Paris, An- na May Childress and Pat Murray of Detroit, Michigan and Sue and Jim Coburn of Roseville Michigan.
