It was _a busy weekend for folks 'from
the "Grove". A --number .attended The Men
for Missions :beef runner at Fisherman's
Cove on Saturday evening. The special
service on .Sunday morning for Senior
Citizens at St. Paul's Anglican Church,
Ripley was also well attended. In the
afternoon many joined in the memorial
service , at the Ripley cemetery to
rededicate the crosses in memory of
those who .died in active service.
Sympathy is extended to the relatives
and friends of Bob Robertson who passed
away last Monday. Attending from Toron-
to were the family of the late Peter
Robertson, Patricia, Alice and Dorothy
and her son Alan Quirt also George and
Madeline Middleton.
Visitors with Morley and Deanna Scott
last Monday were Bob Scott, Marlene
Mitchell, Doreen Perrin, Joyce Linnen,
Max Lang from Manitoba, Arnold and
Nancy Scott from Saskatchewan and
Audrey and Edward Linnen from
Saltford.
Gladys Arnold visited recently with Jim
and Joyce McEwan of Kincardine.
Mary Anne Kukoly, Don .and Anne Me -
Cosh were Sunday visitors with Currie
Colwell at South Kinloss.

ing -the funeral of Freda's mother Laura
Herd, a former -Ripley resident. On the
weekend Mr. and Mrs. Blake Miller
visited at the McLeod home and .all at-
tended the memorial service at the _
cemetery. Charlie returned to Toronto
with his .parents.
Garry .and Laura Farrell, Sarah, David
.and Patrick entertained their friends
.from Edmonton, Martin and Angela
Mooy, Andrea, Evan and Andrew. All ,en-
joyed a visit to the farm and pool with
Jack and Jim Farrell's.
Miss Dorinde Weston of Toronto, Mrs.
Margaret Smith, Mrs. Victoria Smith,
Celeste, Erin and Patrick of Mitchell
visited Don -.and Anne .McCosh and Mary
Anne Kukoly. Also callers were Bert
Thompson, Teresa, Tania :and Jennifer
Farrell.
On Sunday, Morley and Deanna Scott
enjoyed the Blue , family :picnic . at
Bradley.
Ken ,and Brenda Bridge and family
entertained a large group at .a 'picnic at
Holyrood Community .Centre on Thursday
evening. A good time was had -by ::all with
contests and :a :ball game.

rell were Simon, Jan, .Jocelyn, Jessica
and Jennifer Logtenberg -of Dungannon.
Jack and Janet -Farrell travelled. Ao
'Thorndale on Sunday to help Rachel
Miller celebrate her third birthday.

'The annual Farrell :picnic 'for one hun-
dred ,and five descendants of Herb and
Ada (Colwell) Farrell was held last .Sun-
day at :the Thome of Marion „and Bev Cliffe
at Emmerton Beach. The oldest couple
were John and Jean MacDonald of Ripley
:and Tom and Linda Courier .and Seinen-
the of Detroit ;travelled the :farthest. The
youngest babies were Samantha Courier,
Michael Elliott and Scott Martin. Those
having a wedding anniversary on the -day
closest to ',the ;picnic were Ethel Nother of
Mississauga .and Helen Jean Petrie of
Downsview. Ron Tiner of London had the
closest birthday.
All enjoyed the visit, the .beach and
games for the children. Guests were pre-
sent from Detroit, Mississauga,
Newmarket, Downsview, Richmond Hill,
.Eitclr-en:er, London, Denf i‘e1d,
tWallaeebury, Harriston, Fergus and
Ripley and :area.

Former residents of Ripley, Madeline
and Roy Davis of Mount Brydges called
on Bette MacLeod last Wednesday. Also
caller was Freda Owen.
Bette MacLeod visited her friend
Evelyn Smith at Fonthill from Thursday
to Saturday and went on to spend the
rest of the weekend with her son Noel
McLeod and family in Toronto. Her
nephew Charlie Miller of Toronto is
visiting here this week.

Rachel and Devon Locldaead of Waterloo.
John, Marlene, Dawn, Kathie and
Jonathon Collins of Purple Grove and
Katherine Collins on Sunday. Glad to
hear Kelly McGillivray is recovering
nicely from knee surgery.
Katherine Collins enjoyed lunch on Sun-
day with Gerald and Merle Rhody and
their family including David Rhody and
family off Africa who are holidaying here.
The Farrell children, Tania, Toby and
Jenny, Christina, Carmen, Jamie and
Glen tried their swim test last Thursday
at the Kincardine Community Centre
after a session of lessons. They
celebrated by cooling off in the pool at
Fran and Jim Farrell's. They were joined
by Joel and Joy Ellen, Greenwood.

Leanne Smith spent Friday with
Christina Farrell. Marilyn Moulton, An-
drea, Derek and Garry visited the Far-
rell's and enjoyed a swim.
Arnie and Dianne Clifford, }leather
Grant, Christine, Julianne and Megan
visited Jinn and Fran Farrell and family.
Also Mel, Refine, Carla, Gavin and Dustin
Arnold were Sunday visitors.
Kathy, Martin, Jared and Scott of Kit-
chener returned home with Al on Sunday
after spending the week with her parents
Jack and Janet Farrell.
Recent visitors with Katherine Collins
were her family and Gordon and Ruth
Patterson and Glenn and Doreen Young.
The Ripley 4-H Horse Club had their
organizational meeting at Denise Tadla's
on Wednesday evening.
