Early Tuesday and Thursday evenings, the 50's and 60's
music emits from a ghetto blaster at the local pool and
makes one want to get down and :bogey! And that's just
what a good number of area women do - only they do it in
the water. These women are participating in the Aquafit
program, under the instruction of Diane Philips (inset),
who leads then through a 30 minute workout ;aimed to

The Lucknow Lions Ladies held their
final meeting of the .season in June at
Kkwan's Restaurant. Over 40 members at-
tended the meeting and heard a special
reportregarding the club'scontributions
to various community projects over the
past two years.
The.o,ganization has :been instrumental
in 'helping establish the 'Meals son' Wheels
pro. . - t s , providing a `Johnny on the
Spot' for the ball :diamonds, an,_ for
assisting ing the arena, library, fire hall, Toc
Alpha, the Winghazn Hospital, the
Lucknow Medical Centre, the Lucknow

Robert Robertson of the 9th and 10th con-
cessions (adjacent) of Huron township pass-
ed away last Monday, July 10th in Kincardine
District Hospital. The funeral service was
held in the MacKenzie McCreath Funeral
Home in Ripley on Thursday afternoon, July
13, 1989 with Rev. Hugh Nugent of the'Knox
Presbyterian Church in Ripley officiating. On
the nice sunny afternoon the procession went
down the main street to the Ripley Cemetery
for interment in the family plot.
Close relatives attending the service were
from Toronto - cousins Patricia, Alice and
Dorothy, Marilyn Ford of Ripley from Van-
couver now living here, also Mr. and Mrs.
George Middleton of Toronto and others not
known to me.
Pallbearers were neighbours Jim
Needham, Gordon Patterson, John Farrell,
Donald Simpson, Jack .Farrell, Kenneth
MacLeod
Robert (locally known as Bobby) was born
on Con. 10, Huron Township, Nov. 7, 1904.
Father - Dick Robertson of Huron, mother -
Annie McCarl of Kinloss Twp. Bobby resid-

continue helping the community by :sup-
porting future projects that arise over the
coming year.
The new executive for the 198990
season was also introduced at the
meeting. Maureen. D.L will act as
president with Grace Elliott as secretary.
Treasurer will .be Sharon Petterplace,
finances will :be handled by Shirley
Brooks and Marg Finley.
These members will chair "'the first
meeting to be held in early fall

Wylds in Ripley to say that next Sunday after-
noon at 12:30 p.m. an Old Time Fiddlers'
Jamboree will start. To start the day, there
will be a pancake and sausage breakfast, 8:30
a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Lunch - hot dogs, sand-
wiches and pie will be served from 11:00 to
2:00. A cold supper starting at 4:30 p.m.
The Rosemary Cutting Dancers from Kin-
cardine will take part so bring your lawn
chairs.
All proceeds are going to the Point Clark
community centre.
Carol and Tammy Fludder and Nicki
Erasmus, a friend from South Africa, who is
an exchange student living in Kincardine saw
Orkin' Tuson off at the airport in Toronto,
July 7. Orkun was an exchange student and
returned home to Istanbul, Turkey, along
with a friend, Vic Bulzgis of Kincardine, who
will be spending a month in Turkey with

Orkun has been in Canada since last August
and living with Carol Fludder and family for
the past few months. They enjoyed his stay
- as a Rotary exchange student.
Weekend wedding
Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Clare
Weber who were married Saturday
evening, July 8 in the Whitechurch
Presbyterian Church with Rev. John
Neilson :Officiating.
Mr. and Mrs. Eldon .Emerson of St.
Catherines visited over the weekend
with friends and attended the Irwin -
Weber wedding.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Davies, Mark and
Scott of Windsor spent the weekend with
Mrs. Agnes Farrier. Mark and Scott
celebrated their eighth birthday on Sun-
day, July 9.
