Look back in the Readers magazine for
the story about the rescue of a school boy

be a great service if they could be per-

This is the year when hundreds of
former residents of Bruce County's
Culross Township and the Village of
Teeswater are planning to return home
for THE OLD BOYS AND GIRLS REU-
NION. Committees have been meeting
for over two years, and everything
should be ready for the big weekend,
August 4,5,6 and 7, 1989.
This reunion is rather unique. It was
first held in 1905. The war changed the
plans to hold one ten years later, so the
next reunion was held in 1919, and there
has been one, every ten years, since
then.
This is a reunion filled with traditions.
The Galt Riffle Band has played at
every reunion but one, since 1919; there
is a dance every night; registration is
always at the Town Hall; bacl togchool
is always on Saturday morning; a com-
munity lunch, now held in the Complex,
follows the Sunday morning Church ser-
vices; and there has been, since 1905, a
Sunday night concert, with a choir.
In answer to many requests at the
last reunion for more concerts with
local talent, the committee has for this
reunion organized four concerts, with
present and former local performers, an
80 voice choir, with back-up band, a
recital on the grand piano in the Town
Hall, and a "bring your own instru-
ment" jamboree in the Arena.
Even the Sunday night shirt -tale
parade is a tradition, except that it now
ends with a dance, something unheard
of in 1929 when it originated.
There has traditionally been a parade
to highlight the Monday events, and this
year is no exception. Time to visit,
sports events, and special attractions
have filled the empty moments of a
busy weekend.
