Lochalsh folk visit Paris
Charles and Mayme Wilkins and
Lloyd Irwin went to Paris on Saturday OCHALSH
visit Barbara Wilkins and on and
to Satur-
day evening they accompanied Barbara by Kae Webster
Oshawa to celebrate the 25th wedding
anniversary of two of Mayme and
Lloyd's nephews. Allen and Donna Irwin
and Ivan and Janet Irwin, Charles and
Mayme stayed over at Paris till Sunday
and returned home with Elizabeth and
David Dadson.
Barbarais a member of a clown
troupe who were putting on the evening
worship service at the Paris United
Church. Elizabeth played the piano for
them and David was prop man for the
group. Barbara will be bringing her
clown operetta to the Ashfield
Presbyterian W.M.S. bazaar oh Satur-
day, July 22 when she will be painting
children's faces or making balloon
animals far them.
The community will be glad to know
that Marj MacLean has returned home
once again from the hospital and is feel-
ing not too bad. So we all send get well
wishes to you Mari.
Rhetta MacLennan accompanied her
daughter Margaret Morton to Tiverton
the other evening to attend a wedding
shower for Margaret's daughter, Teena
Green.
Gordon and Nora Robb were in
Listowel on Sunday at Nora's sister and
brother-in-law, John and Isabel
McMillan where they attended an im-
mediate family get together picnic.
On Tuesday, Nora Robb and son
Glenn Robb were in Chesley visiting
with Bob and Sandra Darling and
children.
Allen Finlayson of Toronto has been
spending a week of his holidays at home
with his mother, Dorothy Finlayson.
On the weekend, Dorothy is expecting
her daughter, son-in-law and two grand-
sons, Carol Finlayson, John Balch and
boys.
On Wednesday evening, Kae Webster
and sons James and Cecil Webster at-
tended the country and western concert
at Lulu's in Kitchener. It was enjoyed
very much by the threesome. At about
11 pan. it was announced there was ap-
proximately about 2,500 in attendance.
There were 25 Canadian country and
western singers. All money received
from admittance went to the Canadian
Music Hall of Fame, which will be
located across the road from Lulu's at
Sports World.
Wilda and Harvie Thompson spent the
weekend with Wray and Linda Thompson of
Mississauga.
Mrs. Gwen Rothwell, Mrs. Paul Rothwell
and Lady Rebecca visited with Marion
Emerson on Wednesday.
Mr. and Mrs. John Kerr of Walkerton
visited Wayne and Lorraine Kerr on
Sunday.
Jack and Janet Farrell accompanied
George and .Janice Willer .of Thorndale • to
the Skydome on Friday to seethe Blue Jays
game.
On Sunday some from Purple Grove .at
tefdett e.Fiddler's Jamboreein Atwood.
'Earl Elliott received a good report from
the doctors uuLondon. From there June and
Earl went to Ingersoll to visit Ian and Sherri
and then on to Detroit to visit Earl's brother
Everett.
Jim Farrell's visited Jerrjr and Kay
Logtenburg, Dungannon. •On Tues., 36 from
playschoolincluding leaders and helpers ex-

aplored the Saugeen Valley Conservation
Area.
Many from Purple Grove had dinner and
tour at Douglas Point on Tuesday.

The Purple Grove Women's Institute
entertained the Holyrood WI at the . com-
munity centre Wednesday night to hear the
Dairy Princess.
The Grove Bible Study group met at
Marian Gamble's Tuesday, next Tuesday at
Bette MacLeod. -.

sary .of Mildred and Miff Johnson.
Saturday also saw the official opening of
the repaired township shed.
Noel, Diane and Robert McLeod visited
Bette MacLeod.
The spacious home and grounds of Bette
MacLeod proved an ideal setting for the
Senior Citizens Picnic. Luncheon guests
with Bette MecLeod were Jean' Scott of Kin-
cardine . her niece Elsie of Toronto.
Sandy- Mylar .of Toronto picked up Jane
Garland in Guelph and came to Bette
MacLeod's for lunch with .her and her
houseguest , Evelyn Smith of Fonthill.
Edna Stanley .:attended the 5th birthday
party of Katherine Machines. Visiting with
Edna this weekend are Audrey and Mary
Ellen Traher sof London and Carol Ann and
Heather Shantz -of Walkerton. Catherine and
Robert.MaeInnes are staying with Grandma
Edna whiffle Anne Marie and baby David go
to British Columbia to visit David Stanley,
Dick, Nancy and family.
Blyth Festival celebrates 15th
The Blyth Festival celebrated the
opening of its 16th anniversary season
on June 16 with a ISold-out crowd and
hundreds of guests tinct, come from near
