Eastern Star assistanc A donation ,of ,$814000 from the Order of the Eastern -Star of 13ntario :has pro- vided a new ::dental Clinic that is pro- viding specialized care for .cancer pa- tients at the Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto. This is the .largest single donation ever received from . a service organization and represents . an outstan- ding gift from the 351000 members in Ontario. The :Order of the :Eastern Star, is an international fraternal organization for both -men and women. The amen are also all Masons, and the women are the spouses or female relatives of Masons. The new dental clinic is the focus of a ;unique :program to prepare .;pedal den- tal splints, :o r ` matilloacial .pro- sthesis" . for patients -before they undergo major jaw surgery for cancer. These splints are then inserted at the time of . surgery and the 'patients are able to .immediately 'eat, drink, speak and interact socially. This is in sharp contrast to the usual :plan of waiting several months while the surgical site heals before fitting the patient with a dental device to replace the parts of the jaw which are removed. Huron Chapter No. 89 of Wingham made a generous donation to this project. GUDERIL 5'lA fl' FRI. - THURS., ;TUNE 23 -L29 FRI. e& SAT. 7 & 9:15 P.M.
