• Kinder-garten
by JenniferPorter
and Tammy Neable
It's been a busy two weeks in the
kindergarten. Last Friday we had a
Mother's Day Party. We spent the week
decorating and making gifts, baking and
practice songs and instruments for Mom.
All our Mom's seemed pleased with our ef-
forts. This week we have had visitors to
our kindergarten. Next year's class are
having the opportunities to come to
kindergarten for a morning or afternoon.
We are happy to see them and share our
classroom with them.
Grade 1
Grade One enjoyed watching the two dif-
ferent performances of "Riunpelstiltskin"
by the senior grades. We thought everyone
did a super job. Our .readers taping their
stories this week were Jordan, Marc,
Alicia, Chris and Angela. Great work!
Mrs. Bell congratulated all the skippers of
the Skip-a-thon. We raised over $2,000 for
the Heart and Stroke Foundation. The top
pledge earners were Tom Brindley with
$200.00, Chris Passmore with $137.00 and
herri Menranken arith $io IMl
received a certificate for a . Super Scoop
Banana Split for their ,efforts. Mrs. Bell
has sent in the order for all the things the
skippers earned.
Grade 2
Grade Two is visiting the Nursing Home
every Friday until the end of June. They
enjoy reading and visiting with their new
friends. Nutrition is being discussed. We
are trying to eat nutritious snacks and get
ourselves fit fo spring.
for
2/3
Grades 2/3 have been' very busy sharing
the SUPER books they have just com-
pleted. They have visited both A.M.-P.M.
kindergarten classes and Pinecrest Nurs-
ing Home to share these books. Jason Ellis
and Mike Wyndham have been chosen as
YAK reps this year. On Wednesday,we-had
the Bruce County. Dairy Princess visitour
classroom. She shared her slides on dairy
farming .and we helped her make butter.
Crackers and schoolmade butter sure
tasted "yummy".
Grade 3/4
We are wondering how Mrs. Clooney is
getting along .as she is on the band trip this
week. We hope she isn't missing too much
sleep. Our "Family Unit" is continuing
and we are working on novel studies. It is
fun to read about other kids who have the
same experiences as we ado.
Grade4
Mrs. Gibson had her baby. We are very
excited. We finished our apace centres.
They were fun!
Grade 5
This week we talked about the Dome
Stadium in 'Toronto. We discussed the
parking problems as wellas theexpense of
food there. We are hoping to enter the
CBC. Dome Poem contest sometime this
week.
Grade 7
Quite a few Grade 7's are looking for-
ward to going on the band trip, Tuesday

Walkerton District High School on June 6
for the Young Author's Conference. The.
