Kinloss council accepts tenders
At the regular session of Kinloss Council
on May 1, r motion was passed to the effect
that the Township of Kinloss is not in
favour of the ministry of Municipal Affiars
closing the field office in the city of
Guelph. Bruce County municipalities
would have to go to some office much far-
ther afield when problems arise. Many
other communities in the county have also
expressed their objections.
Building permit applications were ac-
cepted for Gary Palmer, to construct a
house and barn and for Baird Walker, to
construct a residence on concession 1.
The County of Bruce Highways depart-
ment is to be contacted in regard to resur-
facing Havelock street north, with quarter
inch chips and emulsion and resurfacing
the road into Fisherman's Cove, by double
surface treating with class two aggregate
and emulsified ashphalt.
Council is requesting that the Bruce
County Highways Committee place county
road number six, easterly from the hamlet
of Holyrood, on their long range program
for construction in the near future, due to
the deteriorating condition of the road.
An advertisement will be placed in the
Lucknow Sentinel for someone to cut the
gras at the municipal building at Holyrood
and for a responsible person to count the
dogs in the township, issue tags and collect
the required feeds.
A donation of $300 is to be made to the
Lucknow-Scouting—Association-Canadian
Jamboree Fund in exchange for the pick-
ing up of papers, etc., from some of the
roadsides in the township.
On April 17 tenders were accepted as
follows: Joe Kerr Limited to load, haul and
spread approximately 28,000 cubic yards
of pit run gravel on township roads at .58
for the first kilometer and .12 for each add-
tional kilometer or part thereof; Joe Kerr
Limited to supply, crush, haul and spread
approximately 34,000 cubic yards of 'A'
C OUNCIL
gravel at $2.45 per cubic yard and to
stockpile crushed gravel at $1.65 per cubic
yard, crushed gravel for ratepayers' roads
to $3.75 per cubic yard; Pollard Bros. for
$212.51 per flake equivalent ton to supply
and apply approximately 140 flake tonnes
of calcium chloride.
The road superintendent was instructed
to draw up tender forms and specifications
for a 1989, six ton, single axle truck with
plough equipment and dual box for
sanding.

Ptans'are-'to-begin construction June 1 and
have the addition completed for the opening

Pitch -In Day
Our school yard and the community of
Ripley looks much more attractive after
last Friday when students and staff combed
the town looking for litter. Mr. Greenwood
and Mr. Stanley took 70 bags of litter to the
dump following Pitch -In Day. Please
remember to use litter barrels to help keep
our community looking attractive.
