team effort
While the weather wasn't the most co-

team ..effort by the Beavers, Cubs, Boy
Scouts, Girl Guides, Brownies. and their
leaders, parents and children, and
members of the tourism and business
association made an impressive dent on
the .amount of refuse littering the main
street and other areas of Lucknow.
Groups were given designated spots in
the village to clean up and with rakes and
garbage bags .in hand tackled this com-
munity project.
Floyd Milne assisted in picking up the
many bags of refuse collected by the
volunteers.
Two business ladies were even spotted
shovelling clean one corner of the main
street where a truck has obviously lost
some its contents.
Now that this job is completed, wouldn't
it be great to see all those litter bugs con-
tribute to keeping it that way? Garbage
pails were meant to be used -not looked at !

ing the Sunday shopping issue into the laps
of local municipalities, the Village of

having to address the subject.,

posed by-law, which would allow
businesses to remain open on Sundays,

The proposed Sunday Shopping By-law
reads "That Sunday Shopping ,shall be per-
mitted after. 12:00 p.m. within the
municipal boundaries of the Village of

a retail business in a retail business
establishment to admit members of the

those who really don't 'care.

apathy abound or will those with strong
viewpoints for or; against be in attendance

concerns.
