Paul Machityre's.farin. We got tap inside
-the big barnand Wok at the neaehineryand
straw -and hay. We . peeked through the
fence and lookeclatthe t attle. They were
more 'frightened f us than we were of
-themeNextve went intethe pig barn and
saw all ofthe sows and. piglets. 'We even
got to hold ,and pet a little piglet. Me
squealed very loudly. And td course no
visit to the .farm is complete without
holding babykittens. Theremere two baby
kittens -and many eats for us to holdl and
uddle.
A very special treat was waiting for us
.after our visit. Paurs sister, Heather, and
his -Grandmother :made us pig -shaped
cookiesand juice. What a fun daywe had
:at the 'farm !
OnFriday we went fora springwalkand
watched for all the signs of spring. Our
walk -ended at the Farm Supply Store
wherewe saw -some baby chicks.inthewin-
dow. We were invited in and we all -got a
chance to -hold on toa baby chick. What a
great week!
Grade 1
Grade One have been researching On-
tario birds this week, learning about ap-
pearance, :food, and nesting habits and il-
lustrating each bird. Our computer pro-
gram forthis.urdt is "LandingBirds." Our
special readerswere Jessica,.Lieasey;etn-
-tly-,--Crystal-,em, id-ndrewers. Sell was
'helping =with the 'Skip-ezethon on Friday
afternoon so we had another teacher.
Grade 2
During Education 'Week grade two
celebrated Grandparent's Day. What a
special day it was! We had several great
_grandparents and three visitors from
holland. 'Thank you to _all mho telped to
make the day a success. We .enjoyed The

We visited Pineerest .-on ''Friday and
entertainedthe residents with a .dance and
some Sprin.gsongs.INchopewebrightened
their -day. The Skipothonwas on 'Friday
afternoon -and we had Sherri, 'Kelly, 'Allie-
Jo , Jackie, •Carrie, Alicia, Erinand Paula
.participating. We are very proud to tave
'Rachel Bushell "II Like bogs" at
the MusidFestival.
Grade.316
The.grade 8/4 class is %enjoying reading
the class novel "Fantastic Mr. 'Fon" a
story about a fantastic foe's battle with
three mean, ugly looking farmers.
Members of the class are having fun tak-
ing turns at being different characters in
the book. Most members of the class
believe Calgary or Montreal will win the
Stanley Cup ,while a few -die-hards are hop -
Ing for the upstart Black Hawks to prevail.
We are very proud of Andrea Miller who
sceted.a mark of "80" .after singing "Two
_Little Roses" at the 'Music .Festival in
Walkerton.
Sean liougheed, Shane Petteplace,
Richard 'Welke -and Daryl Aitchison also
represented our class at the festivaLsing-
ing "The Red Caboose". Sean placed se-
cond and .Shane placed third. Congratula-
tions boys for .all scoring over80!
Grade
This week we were working on our

is :keeping track of the hockey 'finals. We
watched the movie "Charlie and the
Chocolate Factory." 'The Skip-e4thim was
on -Friday!
Grade 5
We .are continuing to follow the 'N.E.L.
play-offs. Things are happening :pretty
muchasWepredicted. Amyseggestedthat
girisshouldbe_allowedintothe NIEL. Asia

As 'part of Edueatior Week, .Joat 131aek's class at .1aCPS, :held Grandparents' Day last

result we took a poll to get people's feel-
ings on this subject. The majority believe
that females should be allowed into the
league. Those who _didn't thought that they
could have their own league, the regular
. is too rough and the boys have
moree.xperience and also play more often.
Also, the majority of people would go to
see a female professional hockey team.

On Tuesday our class went to the Music
Festival and sang Live in Harmony". We
tiedfor thirdplace. OnFriday Jackiellur-
ray, , Heather Askes, Katrina Abbott,Dawn
Rhody and 'Terrill Colwell went to the
Music Festival for solos. Weare very pro -
ad of them.
Grade -7
Grade 7 had a major history test this
week. In art we were doing underwater
scenes using oil pastels on -a sheet of
newspaper. We are going to have a French
test on Tuesday May 2. All of us are look-
ing forward to going to the 0.E.C. on May
3. The entire class is making homemade
books and ;two people will be ehusen to go
