Anne and Colin are delighted to an-
nounce the birth of their first child, Scott
John Leonards, bornon April 13,1989•at 1:27
pan. in Clinton Public . Hospital.Scott
weighed 10 lbs. He's the fourth grandchild
for John and Frances Narejko of Brant-
ford and the fifth grandchild for Leonard
and Olive Chisholm of Dungannon. Special
thanks to Doctors Steed and -Salsbury and
the OB staff.

April 4, 1989, weighing 9 lbs. 1 oz., at St.
Joseph's Hospital, London. First -grandson

Struthers celebrate golden wedding anniverseny
On Saturday, April 0, 'Gordon and Etta
(Swan) Struthers of Lucknow celebrated
their golden wedding anniversary at their
home:
Many friends, neighbours and relatives
visited them to congratulate and wish
them many more years of happiness.
They were married on April 8, 1939 by
Rev. C. Todd, minister of the Lucknow
United 'Church. There attendants wre
MarySimpson, Gordon's sister and David
Swan, Etta's brother. They have a family
of three; .a daughter, Lois and two sons,
Bob and Doug, two grandaughters and
four grandsons.
Etta is the 'third generation to celebrate
their golden ,wedding :anniversary.
They farmed for many years on conces-
sion 13, West Wawanosh.and'then moved to
their present home on Gough Street in
Lucknow in 1978.
Visitors were from Toronto, Acton,
Elora, Ingersoll, Wingham, Goderich,
Dungannon, Whitechurch, Kincardine,
Lucknow and vicinity.
Changes around town .this week include
.a new sidewalk at the United .Chur-
chcorner where Bell Canada had Aug it up
last fall..and a bright new colourful look to
McTavish.Sunoco Garage.

in last week's Sentinel, was a former
'businessman in Lucknow as lie owned and
operated the :bakeshop where Loree's
Ladies Wear is located. After selling the
bakeshop to Pete Mullen he started a Gift
Shop in the front of Finlay's building. Sym-
pathy is extended to the members of his
family in this area.
Mr. and Mrs. Stewart England of Sault
Ste. Marie have been visiting with his
mother, Mrs. Jim England, and other
members of the family recently.
We aresorry to report that'Kelso McNay
passed away before his ninetieth birthday
which would 'have been April 18.
Sympathy is also' extended to the family
of Robert Reid, another resident of
Pinecrest Manor that passed away last
week.
Susan and Jim McNaughton were
weekend visitors at Belwood for the
Christening of their youngest ;grandson,
Graeme James Calvert, son of Maureen
and Jim McNaughton. Also:present for the
christening at St. Matthews Lutheran
Church, Kitchener were Susan and Rudie
Henning; Cindyand Norman Henning,and
their three :daughters, Jennifer, T-abbitha
and .Sabbrina; Elaine Cooper and her
daughter, Elizabeth all of London. The
fourwee,girls aregreat granddaughters of
Susan and Jim McNaughton.

Beatrie McQuillin in the Parish Hall of St.
Peter's Anglican . Church on Saturday

Another birthday party on Saturday was
held for Ralph Cameron and his daughter
Sandra Graham of Welland, both
celebrating birthdays the same day and
:his grandson, :Brent Cameron, whose bir-

Cameron for the :birthday supper.

thday last Saturday with an open house at
the Parish Hall in,Lnchnow, where friends
and relatives called to extend their best
wishes. Miss MeQuillin was born and rais-
ed in St. Helens and taught school for 26
nears. She taught all elementm y ;grades in
St. Helens as well as teaching for approx-
imately

schools. She willed 'from Wailing in 1956
andmoved toLucknow in 1184. Her ,
Mrs. Mildred O Pardon, was on
hand to help celebrate as were Miss Me -
nieces, nephews, grandniece and
grew. Miss McQuillin had two
